Johannes Holz is specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery at OrthoCentrum in Hamburg and Park-klinik in Manhagen. He was team physician of the 2nd league (1st and 2nd Bundesliga) soccer team FC St. Pauli from 2001 until 2014, team physician of the 1st league field hockey team Club a.d. Alster and Associated Physician of the Olympic Training Center Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein until 2016. He is Associated Faculty of the Department of Sports medicine of the University of Hamburg.
Johannes Holz studied medicine at the Medical University of Hamburg and graduated in 1992. After his graduation, he undertook a number of roles including Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Assistant Professor at the Medical University Ulm (1997-2001).
His special interests include arthroplasty of the knee and hip, arthroscopic anterior and posterior crucial ligament reconstruction, reconstructive cartilage and tissue repair, reconstructive meniscus repair and transplantation, high tibial osteotomy for varus and valgus leg deformity, arthroscopic surgery repair for anterior, posterior and multidirectional shoulder instability, arthroscopic rotator cuff refixation and reconstruction, arthroscopy of elbow and ankle, foot surgery, sports traumatology and minimally invasive interventional spine therapy, including Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) percutaneous discectomy.
